i'm into N1 deck-jackets since quiet some time - well deckjackets in general
once in while i saw pics of N1 jackets manufactured by BR and ToysMcCoy in leather
never saw one for sale in europe and in my size so i reached out to @Shawn Ali and asked him whether he could make one for me ...
photos of those ANJ3 jackets are hard to come by - still i found some on the WWW
i own both version of the ANJ3 off coarse repops made by Fivestar: 1 with the more A2 details like shoulderboards and the zipper covered by the leather-tab (difficult to explain ...) -...
yard sale find:
A2 deck jacket in size XL (46-48) - label is difficult to read but i think it says manufactured 74 with markings of a "SHOOTER' and USS Ranger stencil with 2 patches ...
patches where in the chest-pocket
shooters are the guys to control the catapult-start on flight decks ...

the 2nd project ever i started in China after some upgrades - sold...
well that photo is about 10 years old - i did about 8.000 mls on chinese roads with her well and these roads are kind of "demanding" - she is currently undergoing some overhauling in order to get her raod-legal in Germany

Well in order to "refire" the thread i post some piccies of my 5Star G1 in HH
Received the jacket in pristine condition and asked a friend to "work" on her to get her a distressed look. Yeah - off coarse - not everybodie's taste but i like it anyway.
Aging as well as the patch-artwork have...
I'm more into the 5Star military jackets rather than the civil line - well but since i saw so many really nice designs on here i think i need to also dig a bit more into it ...
got several jackets from 5* - meanwhile i'm at about 7 or 8 which are still in my possession - but ordered about more...
and something rather special:
purchased the upper jacket with CGN9 recently always had something in mind that marking looked/sounded familiar and fond another jacket off the same vessel in my stash - purchased the "older" one years back
it is rather unusual to find patches on A2s - only...
i managed to get my hands on a whole lot (should be about 20 of them) USN foul weather deck helmets in that distinctive greyish darkblue that the original jackets had
interesting to see the different stages of fading
the stencils on the helmets are printed in silver - no white
