This jacket was made for Sears Roebuck in the mid 1950s by Roughwear Clothing Co. RW A2 have the inset sleeves. These are high quality jackets made by the famous WWII A2 maker.

The connection with WWII is meaningful to me. I have a mix of wools remaining, some interesting. I have to pick up this pile.
You have an excellent collection, you have styles I do not have.
The length is evident in your picture. Sleeves don't seem to run long on these wool styles. You will know soon. Haven't ever mentioned the "other" one. I have nothing like this yet.
I need to sort through my wool jacket. I will do some videos .
That is the surprise, mid length? The longer one is newer even with the same lapel front. I will probably get them all out, I have 2 others in a mid length
Another jacket from another thread. This is too important in the vintage world. The back story; found upstairs in an old store, never sold with the original hang tags and looking like new! This should be on Antique Roadshows1 Easily 90+ years old.
1928 Sears Catalog. This style was...
The jacket below was in a recent post. A question about length led me to do a video. A look a 3 pre-war wools.
this is my Hercules in a 27 inch length.
Comparing to the 2 below
1940 JC Penney
Late 1930s Hercules
This is a very popular style by California Sportswear, sold from the late 30s through late 40s. This was a chassis they used with a variety of tweaks. They changed the leather, the pockets for a variety of looks. I have this jacket in goatskin and calf skin. This jacket appears to be...
I found a similar jacket in the 1930 Shanhouse catalog. They are listed as 30 inches also. I will get of mine. I was surprised it is that short. A very fitted jacket with a flair. It does need some work.
Ok, then the brown is mostly likely a Hercules labeled jacket. I recall it is a bit longer. I would not be concerned with a nicely replaced period correct reproduction zipper. Look forward to more.
Mine measures 24 inches in the back. I looked through several Sears catalogs for similar jacket and they are all listed as 30 inches,
Just Beautiful. Could easily be from the 1920s.
This is from the 1928 catalog
I'm up to a 10 in envy! Beautiful jackets. You know my admiration for these short wool half-belts. The brown jacket seems similar to a Hercules I own. Your jacket is an old one. There is a date on those grommet zippers, just look. It is small. 2 numbers the second is year. The second...
What a magnificent jacket! Who were these guys ? Never seen a Durable with less that magnificent leather. Look through this thread.
California Store label is interesting, but makes sense. The Durable label/maker is the biggest mystery in leather jackets. To me, a mystery that the Wild...
