Tell us your favorite urban walking boot or shoe

Although I certainly believe in the right tool for the job, I seem to find myself in White's more often than anything else. I have several pairs of the semi-dress and I like that you can dress them up or down. Although they are certainly heavier than a lot of shoes, I certainly find them more...

    Looking for a leather wallet

I'll jump into the Saddleback Leather crowd as I own some of their products including a large briefcase. Their workmanship is amazing and it comes with a 100 year warranty. They aren't joking when they say you can leave it in your will. Cheers, Jed

U.S. members here who purchased directly from Aero Scotland...

I have ordered and received two jackets from Aero and I was not charged duty on either. The most recent was December 2009. It sounds like it is indeed the luck of the draw. Cheers, Jed

    Alden All Weather Walking Shoes...

Opinions vary so here is a different one. I got my first pair of Alden 405s (Indy's) before I knew about the movie relationship. My first pair was a great boot but the later ones were not. One thing that really ate at me was the fact that the boot tongue would slide over and needed to be...

    Five Fingers KSO Trek shoe

These shoes are amazing. I use them for Crossfit and other activities and simply think they are great. I know countless folks who have them as well and feel the same. My only advice would be to actually try them on since not all of their models fit or wear the same. There is a lot of good...

Check Out Aero USA's New Prices!

I certainly won't attempt to defend Aero but as a consumer, prices in my world have done nothing but increase for everything. Fuel is still over $2.50 a gallon and that will drive everything. Whoever says the cost of living has not increased is certainly living some place different then me...

    Ecperience a WW2 POW Camp

This came to mind before I reached your post. Like some here, I attended Level C SERE amongst others but in that setting, it was training and for educational purposes. Mini "SERE" type courses have been around for years but I have always questioned the validity of such courses considering the...

    us army saddlebags

Do a search for McClellan Saddlebags. You'll find everything from repro to original. The older style bags were black and the newer were brown/russet. There are a lot of options and prices. Cheers, Jed

    White's Boots Custom Options

I own several pair of White's and based on conversations with them, not all of those options on the Japanese site are available through White's. The Japanese will order a particular boot and then do more work to them once it is received. As an example, some of the soles that are offered by the...

Rank and Patches on Military Jackets - Might I Offend a Veteran?

Opinions certainly vary on this subject and it is one of personal interest to me. To the OP, it would be my advice to wear the jacket plain or with nose art at the most. Leave rank and unit insignia off. Again, just an opinion and advice. With that answered (and this is not directed at...

What is B-3 Jacket temperature comfort range?

Bay Area I lived in the Bay Area for a bit and never found use for anything more than an A-2. You would certainly roast in a B-3 unless you were on a motorcycle at midnight in San Francisco. Oh, and it would have to be winter. Yeah, speaking from experience on that one.

What is B-3 Jacket temperature comfort range?

I purchased an ELC B-3 several years ago and have only worn it a few times. Recently I was out and it was 46 degrees F with a wind chill of 31. As long as the wind was blowing and I was in the shade I was fine. If I was in the sun and/or the wind had stopped, I was burning up. So, I...

    Exchange Rate?

I hadn't considered the exchange rate when I ordered an Aero recently and mostly expected it to be poor as usual for the USD. I was presently surprised that my 400GBP jacket showed up as 590USD. This charge was made by Aero yesterday, 14 Nov. Looks like it is definitely a good time to make...

    My Aero boots arrived!

Thanks Hawk_Eye for the rundown. So much for "free" trade. That is seriously crazy as you well know. Well, at least you are not disappointed with the boots as that would just add further insult to injury.

    My Aero boots arrived!

Those boots certainly look sharp. I am shocked though that your import tax was about 50% of the purchase of the boots. I ordered an item from the UK a few years ago and I believe that I payed around 5% total. Is 50% normal? That would seriously hamper spending 400 pounds on a jacket or any other...
