I should probably stop replying like this because this is getting more and more off-topic, but yeah, all the shaping stuff was modifications. It was pretty boxy to start with, but the felt is beautiful and I'm a big fan of the colour/height. My first fedora was a Jaxon though, as it happens...
Thanks for that! I was actually recommended that book recently, oddly enough. I suppose I really better get onto that.
The hat's made here in the UK by Christys'. Out of the box it had a really wide front, which isn't something I think looks very nice on a fedora (and, furthermore, made it...
First & only suit:
Pretty sure the sleeves and legs are overlong; would really prefer there to be cuffs on the latter to give 'em some weight, since they're pretty light (you can see here they're pretty creased after being on for a few hours). It ain't much, but y'know... I'm a student ;_;
Casablanca, actually. 70th Anniversary screening at my local indie cinema. Excellent, of course.
My attire for the evening:
(The hat is actually named after Bogart, though it looked decidedly un-Bogart with the factory crease... so I tweaked it.)
You totally could! Didn't you see Face/Off? You just run the risk of turning into John Travolta. Or something. I wasn't really paying attention.
Also, that is pretty much precisely the sort of beardage I desire. I think mine's too chaotic at short lengths to sit so neatly, though. Hope not...

* Unless it's properly long, it seems to grow at any old angle, so I get crazy spikes all...
You're right, I'm 21. I've heard similar stories from a few folk w.r.t. the bumfluff vs. manbeard thing. I actually don't seem to have a huge amount of difficulty with the thickness, but I have this continuing issue with white/blond hairs in amongst the dark. I'm not sure, but I suspect it's...
Ah, yes, I only spotted that after I'd posted. Didn't think to check in the hat section originally because I was thinking of it more in terms of the beardage, hence thought it belonged elsewhere. Apologies!
Maybe you have, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks about these things. I'm thinking full beard, kept as tidy as possible. Suppose I'll see how it goes for a while and scrap it if I just look stereotypically homeless/drunk...
Thanks for the info!
I recently posted a version of this question on Reddit, only to be bombarded with people ignoring my question and only insisting that I shouldn't ever wear a fedora because they are terrible, always. Obviously, I refuse to accept this. I've had nothing but positive feedback from those who have...
