    Agreed about the suede treatment. It worked great on my desert boots. Griff, if you're going to get sneakersI'd recommend a pair of the Converse Jack Purcells. They look about the same and are a little more expensive (maybe $15-20 in the US) but there's a big difference in comfort in my opinion.
