Up for sale is one Akubra Sydney Fedora, of the measurements listed in the title. It is an open crown hat with a 2.5 inch brim in Regency Fawn.
The hat's in perfect condition. I ordered it and wore it once a few years ago, but it's been safely stored since. I'm in the need of additional...
My thoughts exactly. Just thinking out loud, the Overlander in dark fawn would pretty much match the color of the coat. or would that be going over board with too much brown? The stetson drifter is catching my eye, too.
Sigh
decisions, decisions.
If only I had an unlimited supply of...
The duster is pretty dark in person. The internet pic of it is a little lighter than it actually is.
I like both the hats but my big issue with the stoney creek is i'm worried that the crown is too tall. I'm not exactly a giant (5'10) and I've always thought tall crowns look strange on me.

Hat Choice #2
The Akbura Stoney Creek in Black

I'd been poking around the citysearch website a bit, looking for some vintage stores in my hometown, St. Louis. Lo and behold, I discover the Vintage Haberdashery, a store dedicated to the vintage hat. It was downtown, off Grand, not a short drive, but not a long...

My sydney is hands down my favorite fedora. My first experiences with akubras were with the stiff pre-creased variety, so imagine my surprise at how soft the Sydney was.
Well, I have some Stryne and Kiwi kin that the family didn't know about for the better part of for decades. Long story short: Great Uncle kenny shacked up with a Maori woman in new zealand while on shore leave during WWII. He was, of course, unmarried at the time. Unbeknownst to Kenny, triplets...
