In my experience and surprise the Alpha MA-1 is warmer than the Alpha B-15. The MA-1 seemed to be a little thicker than the B-15. Of course the B-15 has the cozy fur that helps keep the cold out. The Alpha MA-1s don't drape the same way as originals because they're not made of the same heavy wool/cotton interlining. The cut of the jacket is definitely more civilian. Yes, The Alpha B-15D Replica is MUCH heavier and better built that Alpha's current cheap B-15. Top gun movie jacket
I read that the Navy used a bi swing back so that a downed aviator could swim in the ocean more easily with his G-1 on. I love the design but am frustrated with the fake fur versions mixed in.- mezz07
