Your arches can change over time.
Some runners who have switched from "modern" running shoes with lots of cushion to shoes with minimal cushion, or even barefoot running, report that their arches come back into shape. I think McDougal mentions it in his book Born to Run.

Gfellers will make an oversized field pouch. No handle, but has a padded strap. It's a geologist's bag. Around $250 I think, a couple of months lead time:

The regular size is shown in the home page picture (largest bag in the back). It is just too small for a pad of...
My attorney says, "just not black," when asked what color ink to use for legal documents. Other attorneys insist on blue. When I bought land a couple of years ago the woman doing the papers insisted on blue.
So, I use Noodler's Legal Lapis. Bulletproof, archival, and a reasonably dark blue...
I am not totally against hard cases, but I think I would be too hard on one. Hard cases seem not to handle minor abuse as well as soft cases.
Another thing is that my carpool partner and office mate is a 90-lb German shepherd. The fatal flaw with my current briefcase, a cloth Filson model...
Durable Leather Breifcase
I am in need of a presentable, but fairly durable and vintage/traditional-looking leather breifcase.
I have been thinking about the likes of this one by Custom Hide:

Or, if I win the lottery, this one by...
Check. :)
My environment is quite rural. If most of my clients had their way, time would be turned back to the early 20th century by declaration. There are meetings with clients (at their offices or job sites), government officials (in their offices), and the public (grange halls, back rooms...
How would you advise a civil engineer to dress and accessorize, so that his appearance conveys "vintage" without it overtly rejecting "modernisms?"
I have always admired the scientists and engineers in old photos (1940s, etc.), but don't have a well defined image of it. I was hoping you all...
A small gun in a horizontal shoulder rig conceals pretty well for me.
One thing you can do to try concealment options is to get a reasonably similar holster to what you want, and a Red Gun or other training dummy. You can see how you like it and no worry so much about printing. If the worst...
I think you would have to get a fairly small gun, like a Sig P232 (.380 auto) or a snub revolver in .38 special.
I like shoulder holsters, but if the cover garment comes off, you risk a brandishing allegation.
This is an issue I am working through myself. I went through Gov't .45, 3" Ruver...
