Thanks Thanks so much for the enlightening inquiries. I thought that the hat given to JFK was a Shady Oak, or so claims the Peters' Brothers website. It looks like a very nice hat in any event. Last night I was watching a NatGeo special on the JFK assassination and took great note of the hats the Dallas police were wearing. I think I paid $125 for my Stratoliner. It is very, very nice, although not as pristine as one I purchased (in a green or khaki) last year, for around $275. One reason I asked about the price is that I have felt guilty about paying so much for a hat and now I can feel much better. Thanks again.- FedorafromOhio

Very nice hat. I think I bid on it. If is the same hat, I am curious why it reached such a high price. At the same time I purchased a 7.5 Stratoliner in excellent shape for half of the price.- FedorafromOhio
