Questions about Aero Leather HG 5

Hey there, this is my first post, I hope I'm doing it the right way... I tried to figure out some information about the Aero Leather HG-5. I reached out to Aero but the answered very shortly. My question was:

"I am currently trying to gather some information about a particular jacket — the HG-5. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find any detailed information about the history of this model online.
Therefore, I was wondering if you could share some insights regarding the origins of the jacket, its availability, production period, and design? I would greatly appreciate any details you can provide."

and that was the answer...

"Hi Niklas
This was discontinued over 10 years ago, it was probably made for 10-15 years, designed by a former employee but we were never fully happy with the design." "As far as I know, we didn’t like the design, and felt it didn’t fit with the Aero brand aesthetic."

So my question is, if anyone of you guys can help me out with some more details?

Google Aero HG5 and you will find several TFL threads dating back more than 10 years discussing this jacket. Nobody has talked about it for a long time because it hasn’t been around for a long time now.
To me, it looks like a cross between an A2 and the Highwayman.

It was a Hybrid jacket that "bastardised" the Highwayman by adding an external windflap, feature less tube sleeves and making back one piece amongst other things . It was offered from around 2005 to about 2012 . Was swiftly dropped along with everything else that Will lauder was involved with.

I kinda thought "that guy" was involved with the development of the HG-5 after reading the reply Aero sent Niklas. This message from Denny confirms my suspicions.

My friend Stefan, the owner from Kentaurus Cologne, has one in his private collection.
I remember when he got it new. Personally I thought it was a cool design but never pulled the trigger for myself.
The patina is absolutely awesome as always when you wear the hell out of it.

Seeme like he picked it up in person too. Great photo!

Stefan sold me my first ever Aero, a Board Racer in black CXL FQHH. I wish I still has that gem, but I outgrew it and never found quite the same leather as in that magical batch (@Guppy picked it up later on and commented on the “Kentaurus” batch on the lining).

I picked one up years ago. It’s probably the nicest horse hide I’ve ever handled. I love the full back.
