Interesting. Some of the graphic art in that book was clearly either drafted by or heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. This (right) page nearly looks torn from one of his window designs of the time.
A newly married couple and an older couple met out and about one evening. The younger man asked the older what the secret was to a long and successful marriage.
The old guy said "when we were married we decided that from that point forward she would make all the day to day decisions and I'd...
I've been wearing flat caps for 20 years or so and have always made an effort to shape the bill in a curve that matched the drape of an 8 panel rather than leave it flat or nearly so. In several of the photos posted w/in this cap thread the bills are curved minimally if at all. Is that because...
Just right and tough to make more so.
Same. I've seen both of you wear several different hats and I'm not sure if the hat compliments you or you compliment the hat but whatever it is, you gentlemen have it well sorted. Amazing how just a few extra moments spent choosing your outfit for...
Thanks, rogue. Mine arrived, were hung, and they do the trick I'd hoped. I've got a third rack that I may mount to the left... or maybe around the corner. Another hat being built now so I'll need to get around to hanging that one pdq.
I've got a Borsalino hat with a similar Alessandria reference inside the hat (though mine doesn't have a liner). I think Alessandria may not be a hat model but instead the city they make their product in.
Mine also came with the same type of hang tag and square plastic clip with their logo...
Some mfg's justify a US Made perspective as long as it has greater than 50% US value (or some similar benchmark) and that can be finishing of raw goods.
Waiting on a Borsalino shipped 2/18 from Toledo.
Ought to be here in another couple three weeks. The amazing part is that for maybe 3 bucks more USPS Prio will arrive in 4-5 days. Short that couple extra bucks though and it's a month's wait, easy.
Do you know this man?
It is his kindness that brought a new package to my door recently.
I sent him my old Schott and thought it was very cool that he not only had the skills necessary to give the jacket the attention it needed but truth be told I thought it was also special that my old...
You may fare better posting this in the leather jacket section. You're in hats.
Be that as it may... if you like the jacket (a lot) and are certain that's an organism, were it mine I'd take it to a professional leather jacket cleaning facility. I restrict hillbilly wash tub cleaning to...
I've been wearing my Lost Worlds leather pea coat nearly every day since my prior post about it a month ago and yeah, it's horse and it's thick.
I took it to a local leather shop to have cuff knits put in the sleeves ($54USD). That was a massive improvement along w/ 3-4 days of not being...
