    Double Helix Works?

Thank you, it is indeed deerskin. Buttery soft, light, and breathable; and at 1.6-1.8 mm thick, feels substantial. The heart pines for a horsehide version; however, I’m not keen on the Hookless zip. Decisions…

What's the one that got away?

A great story of friendship and brotherly love. I remember speaking with a staff member at a watch store, and his story was all about helping his brother out - settling in a new country, finding work, buying a place, saving up to gift him a watch… Must feel great knowing someone’s got your back...

    Double helix Frisco

Thanks @Jaymig926 for the pics of the jacket and fits. Really enjoy the look of the hardware and contrast stitching against the burgundy horsehide. Enjoy your jacket(s) in good health.

    Double helix Frisco

@Jaymig926 how are you getting on with your burgundy Double Helix? I’m thinking of getting something made in their burgundy full aniline tea core horsehide. Can you share your impressions of the leather colour and hand?

I wore one jacket for the whole winter!

These two in combination with a t-shirt, hat, scarf, and gloves were good between -7 to 10 degrees Celsius during a 2-week trip - though not an entire winter. The cross zip offered lots of options: unzipped, zipped, lapels closed, collar up; and which accessories to don or not.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Thank you. Is it stiff? Yeah, relatively. It can still stand on its own, and when I have it on I’m on my best behaviour - back straight, no slouching, hands to myself. All kidding aside, I rather enjoy it, like having a great steak for a meal. The jacket’s cut with drape across the chest and...

    Does Your Jacket Stand Up?

Fun thread and party trick. When I’m at a coffee shop, I stand my jacket up next to me, or on its own chair. Not so fun if I’m out walking, and have to carry the jacket - feels like carrying a log. The question now is, “Can your jacket do a one hand push up?”

I Got Stuck in My Jacket

Haven’t had any zipper failures yet; however, I do count a couple Talon/Hookless #5 jackets in my rotation. From all these reports, it’s just a matter of time before they go bust. Travelling earlier this year within a winter climate, I was conscious to bring a jacket whose zipper was not at...
