I would get it repaired now, they should take a look at it. If that’s six months’ wear, I’d say you need another year or so to break it in.

I wish I could not care as much as I do about consumer goods like this — no joke. You have a gift, my man. I have a sickness that extends mostly to leather jackets and I’m after the cure!

I’ll not change anything on the 688 other than adding 2” to the sleeves and an inch to the bottom hem of the body. The 557 just needs about 1.5” to the sleeves, otherwise it’s perfect.

Only if that tailor has the original leather in large enough quantities. Difficult but not insurmountable hahaha

I like it as is for the winter months. In the summer you’ll want a size smaller.

I’m going to buy both and have them altered — the 688 and the 557 (I mistakenly called it the 558 in my original post, it’s actually the 557). I guess I’ll sell the Aero, although it works so well on the motorcycle that I may keep it just for that.

What do you think about the Seven, @MrProper ? I’m afraid @bigmanbigtruck may be right, in which case I’ll have to get rid of it and order another one, but maybe in a Sheene insteaad. Could the Seven just be the wrong shape for me, too slim?

I’ve been obsessing over the Schott 688 for a few years now. I love the relaxed fit, the cow feels amazing, and the dark brown color is just luscious. The sleeves are too short for me, I need about two inches added, but then I worry I’d need another inch in the body, or the jacket would look...

Not sure about the protocol here, but I listed one of my jackets on eBay and thought I’d share a link, if that’s ok: eBay link here! It’s a Bill Kelso Arco 18775 — just a little too short for me in the sleeves and the length — it’s a size 46 but I’m 6’2”, 200 lbs and all limbs. I’ve ordered...
