Saw this on eBay and wonder:
1) if this is a roughout model?
2) the sleeves look longer than 22.8 inch for sure - can it be right size 42 has 22.8 sleeves?
Only asking here as the Japanese sellers typically respond by saying ‘sorry we can’t help you as the jacket is already packed in the...
Thanks all!! All very sound advice! This is what makes this forum great!
For those of you own/tried LW - I heard LW size 42 cross zip is significantly roomier than size 40 (a big jump in size). Is this also your experience?
What I’m getting at is - I have a 42 Vanson as winter jacket to layer...
I came up with an idea for ordering from Aero a roughout cross zip. Thinking of either CXLSH or goat. Not sure if aero would dye the suede side black - but I’d be happy with natural suede color.
What are you thoughts re a roughout cross zip? I want to avoid the usual type iii and make something...
Thanks guys. I’ll have a think. I’m based in UK. No way I’m going to order a new LW and pay import taxes on top of the sky high price.
Plus pre owner LW jackets in my size 40 just don’t appear for sale!! So when I see a 42 it got me thinking!

I can think of a way of softening CXL that’s just starting to break in like mine - soaking it in soapy water (which is good for getting the grim out after wearing extensively), and ‘sit dry’ in a bathtub. When no longer dripping, hand rub in some tallow based grease, and wear it while still wet...
So I wore my aero CXL King of The Road jacket for 5 straight days while on holiday - sweaty Eurostar waiting area, sunny Paris daytime, chilly Paris night, etc, plus carrying a huge backpack and constantly picking up children. Each night I wiped it with a wet towel and let it stand to air dry...
Thanks guys. The natural CXL surely changes a lot! I’ve kept this on in 20 degrees in sunny Paris for it to get plenty of tan! It’s not too warm outside when unzipped. Also stuffed 4 passports in a zipped pocket that was never used before. Plus a 20KG backpack, and picking up a toddler on my...
