I'd say this is a non-issue. Perfectly normal when stiff leather is combined with narrow sleeves.

Why hasn't this been answered? I use shoe creme and shoe wax on leather jackets all the time for the exact same purpose. No harm done.

MScissors fix it better. That's what I did with the windflap on my jacket. Just cut it off. Phew, much better!
