Anybody know where I can get my hats steamed and shaped in Brooklyn or Manhattan? My vintage beaver hats have gotten very soft I think from humidity in storage. How do I get that stiffness back in them?
A&S definitely does not make this hat in house.
They outsource it to a hat maker probably like Christies of London or similar.
How much did you pay for it if you dont mind me asking?
Thank you!
I would have thought it was older because it has such a vintage look to it.
I also noticed it says Open Road, is that because of the style?
Also is it possible to steam the brim up? I usually don't snap my brims down.
I am absolutely in love with this dobbs twenty in gray. The box says its from 1938 but I dont know. What do you think?
Out of my hats I seem to find that the dobbs twentys fit me the best. I usually wear 7 3/8 but this one is 7 1/4 and must run big?

I acquired a new hat off poshmark for a great price and in amazing condition. It actually might be the best hat I own in terms of fit. It certainly feels the most comfortable on my head, more than my others. I'm really happy with it and I believe it's from the 1950's era.
Heres the hat I promised to show you. This is a Stetson twentyfive from the 1940's I believe, it's in mint deadstock condition. My son Jack wanted in on the action as well.
I really enjoy collecting vintage things. I especially love vintage suits. I find alot of my things on etsy and ebay but living in staten island so close to the city, it's really the thrift capital of the world. Heres an old suit from the 50's with a dobbs twenty. Tomorrow I will show you...
It's strange because in Dobbs 7 3/8 fits me very well. Maybe I'm better off with a smaller brim as opposed go 3 inches. Maybe I should grow my hair longer on the sides? I usually buzz it down to a half or 1
Trying my hand at this pork pie thing. Imperial Stetson 15 from Canada. Not sure what decade it's from but I think its pretty old, maybe 50's? Hopefully someone can confirm
I think once I put the sizers in the sweatband it makes all the difference. Also, I handbashed the crown into a porkpie shape and that really helped alot too.
