BTW here's another pair i own and they're in deadstock condition.. very early French.

I searched my local hardware/haberdashery stores and found these: width is good but they are flatter than rounder and non stretch (and wrong color ofcourse).

I looked into AC's version a while back..pricier than Lofty's as i recall, so are you saying you have both brands? Which do you prefer overall assuming the AC's had the stretch cords? Speaking of cords; ive had this other nagging idea of converting my 30's/40's braces with the super long cord...

I was on the verge of snagging a Lofty pair myself when i ran into the Shirley's..was getting really tired of the wait. Lofty in general does a remarkable job with any gear they re-issue, their attention to detail is better than most re-issue brands. I think their "Shirley" version is better...

DanielPetmr Thanks for weighing in. To respond to your tips: Replacing the clip would unfortunatley take away from the whole "shirley president" aesthetic ..the logo is on those clips so swapping a generic pair is going to make them look like repro's. I'm still toying around with the idea of...
