I was sorting through some family photographs and found an album of pictures that had been presented to my great-uncle during WW2. He was an engineer working for Bristol Aviation in the UK and was sent to the Lycoming aircraft engine factory in Williamsport, PA (presumably to assist them on building engines for the British?).

Thank your for the pics, Two Types. Williamsport is only 35 miles north of my home and I have been there. Lycoming was a major employer during the War years. Those days of bustling business are sadly no more.

Really nice shots! Not too often you get an individuals insight behind the scenes. Being an ex-aviation mechanic the shots are really interesting, that is to see things being done by hand rather than machines and lathes with no person around. Looks like someones shop rather than an industrial giant arming a nation.

Thanks for sharing.
