Fedora and suit matching

Okay, so I have a black suit with grey pinstripes and a darker grey three piece. I'm looking for fedora that would work with both. I was thinking a lighter grey with a black band. Any thoughts?

danke!

Yes, yes, yes. A fedora of that color will in fact go with more or less anything.

The black suit is limiting; I'd only feel comfortable in a lighter gray, the lighter the better. The charcoal suit would support fawn and darker gray. I've seen dark brown too but it's harder to pull off. Depends on the shades. But, consider the source of this advice: an anonymous avatar of Moe.

Ain't that Shemp?

My two bits:

Light gray, you can't go wrong... even a very soft light, light gray... black ribbon... I'd say would look smart with either suit.

Are there any fedora-suit color combinations that don't work?

Yes. For instance, a brown fedora does not look good with a black suit. However, under certain circumstances, a black fedora can look good with a brown suit. Go figure.

Where was that photo take? The Edison?

Brown hats do not look good with black in my opinon... but, gray, not so bad... mostly a red/brown type of brown if that makes sense.

Yes, it is. He does look a lot like Moe, though.
