Beach Acrobats of 1930's Australia
The lost art of 'Beachobatics'
Bondi resident George Caddy was best known for his success as a jitterbug dancer. But it's these posthumously discovered photographs of 1930s 'Beachobatics' that's got Alan Davies from the State Library of NSW jumping for joy. http://www.smh.com.au/interactive/20...ics/index.html |

Beautiful people! Thank you for sharing.
I think it is simply extraordinary how these images suddenly surfaced so many years after they were taken. I wonder how many treasures like this one are still out there, hidden in attics, cellars, forgotten boxes... It's still happening with paintings now and then, a masterpiece lost and found. Simply amazing!

Lovely photographs. I think people were a lot more acrobatic back then. My grandmother used to do these kind of things and my granfather could stand on his head till he was 70. It's a childish way of fun. I adore that atmosphere!
