Well, yes, exactly. Why not offer choice to customers so demanding? Stocking a handful of larger zippers involves negligible cost or storage.
Aero doesn’t offer 1/1 repros of historical jackets, so “period correct” hardwear is nice if thats your spiel, but others favour function over form and...
Glad, how it worked out for you.
This is also my impression: the zippers may fail sometimes, but Aero´s dealings with such issues are always top notch!
Aero´s reluctance just leads to people running around in jackets with god-awful zippers, replaced by unskilled hands because
- the No. 5 Talons (Hookless) are bound to fail eventually and
- as Aero themselves offer no help, people go to their own cobblers to have the job done.
I am a big fan of...
it’s been said before, but I’d like too echo that the Universal (which is basically a YKK) is a very solid compromise.
It seems that on top of using some problematic zippers, some Aero machinists bury the zipper tape deep in the leather. That gives a very clean look when closed and minimises...
Very good fit.
Got the same jacket, have the same fit. Yeah, a bit snug when performing excessive exercises, but any larger in the chest would just spoil the looks.
Looks great!
I would take the stiff leather as a benefit in terms of longevity (and the patina-potential going with it).
For manual break-in just roll the whole jacket up repeatedly or bunch it up at will.
As to the buttons: stiff/thick leather and buttons are really a match made in hell. No...
Great jacket! Congrats.
I am myself a fan of both Y2 and The Shop. Great collabs there and great customer service.
I am surprised at the narrow sleeves as my Y2‘s come with rather generous sleeve diameters. Have never tried the Single Rider or the HV hide though.
I have had minor scratches...
Full disclosure: At first glance I thought, "that´s it, he´s finally lost his magic touch on all things leather." Too busy, too undecided, neither fish, nor flesh.
But boy, this jacket grows on me!
Perfectly executed for sure and a great fit. I started off ruling out a lot of designs for me...
Gosh, those wrinkles!!! Did you store that one in your jeans pockets?
Seriously though: looks really great, and I never even heard about the maker before...
Thank you. Sadly, too small for me now. I guess that’s kind of ok after more than 20 years…
Lining is totally unobstrusive. A yellowish grey cotton-sateen. I got it from the Flagship store just off Regent Street at a time when I was in London MO-THU for six weeks. I thought, I had seen the...
Yes and no. Addict is using a very nice horsehide on their models (can’t comment on the sheep), so they were always at the same price as a LL with veg-tan cow.
The ‚copy‘ was always the superior product, so the new price is. purely reflecting the brand.
