Hi Blare, I started doing some research on the union label on this very sight. From what I found, the union label I have with the type of little insignia at the upper left would date this hat in the 1940s.
Could anyone shine some light as to the maker of this hat. I can't find any information as to a Royal Park. I've seen a JC Penny's Marathon that looked identical to this, so I'm assuming this one was made by Lee as well. I'm also assuming it's a 1940's model. Any information would be helpful...
Can anyone please tell me when and where Royal Park Hats were made? I can't find any information on this company. This is not the Park Royal hats I see mentioned but it is in fact a Royal Park Deluxe. I would estimate the time period to be late 1940s to early 1950s.
Here's some pics Bob. I have two of these hats and they're identical. There's nothing to indicate they're made in England. So, I'm going on this to think that these Bates hats aren't associated with he company in England.
Thank you, Bob, I really appreciate that information and I never would have even thought that. So, would I be right thinking this Bates is entirely different than the Bates hats from England?
Since I didn't get any info on my inquiry about the Bates hat I posted, perhaps someone could answer this one. I noticed an earlier post where someone posted pics of a hat from the Pilgrim hat company. I believe it was 1950s. One of the pics showed the liner with the cowboy on a bucking horse...
Does anyone have any info on this hat brand? I believe it's early 1960's but I can't find any information on it. It's not the same as the Bates hats from England, so that is not the place to post for info on this hat. The felt is very similar to an early Open Road with a 4 1/2" creased crown...
Thanks, I did after I posted the last question. Really wanted to verify that this particular hat was indeed a refurbished 1940's hat and by all indications, and done during that time period rather than what refurbishing referred to.
My observation tells me it's more likely 1940's rather than later due to several things. The size of the brim is more in line with that time period, the style of this Stratoliner compared to later models, the lettering in the embossed script is more in line with the 1940s and the fact that the...
Can anyone tell me if this is a factory script that the Stetson factory would do? I just purchased a 1940s Stratoliner and this is on the sweatband. I never saw this before and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. I can't imagine a hat restorer doing this.
