Well, not a stock tip, but car and motorcycle swap meets are a good place to find leather jackets-I picked up a nice tan Brooks jacket at one a few years ago, for not much money. I usually see jackets at every one I go to. I visit the local thrift where I got this jacket almost every day around...

Here's the back. As you can see, almost unworn in appearance, and doesn't smell,either. I like this one-fits well, and not too valuable to wear, unlike the Buco I found earlier this year.

Well, whatever it is, it's well worth the dollar I paid for it....

I've worn Detroit jackets for years-but I work in them, and wear them out. They go from being new, brown, and stiff to faded, stained, and frayed, to finally, relegated to working on my cars in cold weather. Wear a "seasoned" Detroit jacket in Lowes or HD, and people will ask YOU for advice on...

How about this ornate dish? Just sitting on a shelf in a local thrift. I guess the sorters didn't know that a "900" mark on it makes it worth more than the $3.99 I paid for it... The candle holder and salt shaker were Sterling, also. I picked them up for a couple of dollars each.

Those Vincent riders a few posts back-almost all of them in the photo are wearing well-worn Barbour and/or Belstaff waxed cotton jackets. Waxed cotton can get to looking like leather after it's worn.

I'd vote for a Brooks jacket,too. A great,well-made brand, with more than a little Buco DNA in their lineage.

It fits-I'm not a big guy-I'm 5'7" and about 143 pounds. This size 42 fits pretty nicely, with just a T-shirt underneath. I'm still pondering what to do with this-I have plenty of other vintage jackets to wear, that aren't nearly so rare, and this one really is in nice condition-probably too...

Another item from the same store-a genuine Currier and Ives print, from 1864. I paid $3 for it.....
