    Buyee working?

Thanks - I checked the holiday schedule in Japan and nothing is officially happening now - the agents have always been really helpful with getting questions to the sellers. Some sellers respond, others don't, it's really hit and miss.

    Buyee working?

Hi All, Not sure if this is the right place but it does pertain to outerwear on Buyee.jp. Is anyone else having a hard time getting ahold of an agent to communicate with? For the last three days I've gotten messages saying they're offline and will get back to me in 1-2 days, which is unusual...

Technical questions - center seam, coloured leather

Thanks, I appreciate that. My Thedi has three panels in the back - one across the shoulders, a middle section, and a lower section - and the side panels seem to have a curve to them, which means it offers a bit of shape. I'm glad to learn that the color is dyed through and not just applied as...

Technical questions - center seam, coloured leather

Hi everyone, I have two technical questions I'm looking for thoughts on: 1. What's the purpose of a centre seam on the back of a jacket? Is it to effect the drape? Particularly with horsehide I know a full seamless panel is more expensive to produce than two seamed panels. Is cost the only...

Retailer too good to be true?

Thanks @Marc mndt, I was wondering if it might be someone's personal collection given that most of the jackets were size 42. As for the prices, the vintage market in general is a bit mad at the moment - here in Toronto there are warehouses where you buy clothing by the pound and every Thursday...

Retailer too good to be true?

Hi all, Hope you're all already looking forward to a good weekend, and that all's well. I don't know if this is allowed - and if not Moderator(s) please remove - but I came across this European retailer and it almost seems too good to be true. https://sokinoki.ch These guys have lots of good...

    Y'2 HR-41 Single Riders

Thank you Tom71, I appreciate the thoughts - TJ is a good guy, very personable and willing to help. I spoke with him last winter about another Y'2 piece that was a collaboration with the brand, Strike Gold. Cool piece but I passed on it in the end. I hope the Shop Vancouver does well and that...

    Y'2 HR-41 Single Riders

Thank you handymike, I'm always on the hunt for something cool secondhand. I'm not necessarily a vintage guy but I do like some of what I've seen. There was a Langlitz CR that @tmitchell59 sold last year that was just killer. I actually really liked it. It went to a lounger and then another...

Will your new jacket ever look vintage?

Hi Marc, yes that's the grey I'm referencing, although it looks brown-ish on yours. And to be clear, the greying is not my favourite but it's definitely not a deal breaker, nor would it prevent me from purchasing a C2. I do love the contrast between the black leather and the brass zippers and...

That's good to know, thank you.

Will your new jacket ever look vintage?

That's a good looking jacket and it doesn't appear to be very long - I've seen some Vanson Model Bs that were extremely long in the back, which I don't prefer. This one looks great.

Will your new jacket ever look vintage?

Thank you Boyo, that's good information - I'll look at Self Edge first and then check out Iron Heart's virtual store. That's cool of them to offer it.

Will your new jacket ever look vintage?

Thanks much for that, I think the C2 is a killer jacket and in the smaller sizes (34, 36) there are always some available on Mercari, etc. Do you have any experience with Octagon leather? Is it grey at its core or does the reddish-brown go all the way through? Wondering if it wears in similar...

Will your new jacket ever look vintage?

Thank you @Boyo, are you in North America and if so did you purchase it locally? Not 50yo and yet it looks like it has stories to tell - the owner got up to some things, got into a few scrapes, a bit of the business, and I think that's cool. Thank you for sharing that.

IH is Iron Heart, yes? How do you find the horsehide? Is it stiff-ish but still soft? It's great looking and I love the sheen. Well done.
